The highlight of this surf spot was the large pod of dolphins that swam up and down the beach every day!In all my years of living in San Diego, I have never seen so many dolphins- they were doing jumps and spins out of the water- just awesome! Look for the checkered flags near lifeguard tower 19 and Santa Clara pl. This spot is surfed by advanced local surfers as well as beginners taking lessons. The seasoned surfers seemed to be very considerate of all the beginner surfers(mostly kids).
